Announcing Ministries of Pastoral Care’s first continuing education workshop,

To foster the spiritual and psychological maturity of pastoral caregivers through union with Christ.

Topic:  Deeper Listening

To speak with integrity to those we provide care for, we must begin in silence. Cultivating silence yields true receptivity, and helps us see the inner activist that militates against stillness. Join us in this workshop where together we’ll invite God to make us stronger channels of His holy presence.

Learning Objectives

  1. To define silence as an essential aspect of spiritual recollection.

  2. To distinguish active, creative silence from “shutting up” and passivity.

  3. To consider the subtle internal hindrances to receptive listening.

  4. To practice the inner quiet necessary for true listening and increase access to the spiritual resources that support such quiet.

Who Should Attend?

For those who provide pastoral care in any setting – pastors and spiritual directors, professional psychotherapists, lay counselors, and healthcare providers.

Workshop format

Lectures with prayer, dialog, and practice, recorded videoconference (presented November 12, 2022)

Workshop fee $25 (scholarships available)
